As you enter a new season in the NBA, the year before doesn’t mean anything. You have to prove that you have carried that chemistry over the summer and still can play at that high level. For teams that did not make it to the post-season this is especially hard, you have to improve your team over the summer by bringing in talent, and training your potential players. But the teams that did make the post-season and had winning records, don't have the easiest job either, and if you are the defending champion you still have a lot to prove.
